Brewing Guides

A Starting Point for Delicious Coffee

These recipes are our recommended starting points—simple, reliable parameters designed to help you get the best out of our coffees. They’re not rules or the only “right” way to brew. Every coffee, every brewer, and every palate is a little different, and part of the joy of brewing at home is learning what you enjoy most.

Use these guides as a foundation, then experiment, adjust, and trust your tastes. Over time, you’ll strengthen your palate, understand how small changes affect flavor, and gain confidence in making a cup that feels just right for you. Our goal is to give you the tools, not the limits—and to help you enjoy the process as much as the final sip.

01. Prep

  • Heat water to 205°F.
  • Rinse the Chemex filter with hot water and discard the rinse.
