This peaberry selection is a blend from two large farms/estates in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania: Kilimanjaro Plantation (~1500 acres) and APK Estate (1000 acres). Both farms grow the traditional varieties of Kent and Bourbon. After picking, coffees on both estates are depulped the same day, then fermented for 12–24 hours. They are washed clean of mucilage and then dried on either raised beds or mechanically (at the peak of the season, in order to save space on the beds). It takes 12–24 days for the coffees to dry before they are bagged and prepped for export. We recommend Tanzania Peaberry Kilimanjaro for the anyone who enjoys a darker, more savory coffee. It is delicious on its own or with cream and sugar!
