Join us for an exciting night of coffee brewing where 16 competitors will face off against the FELLOW AIDEN with their manual brewer of choice to find out who (or what) can brew the best coffee.

All competitors will receive:

- A bag of coffee we will be using for the competition.

- A free Lotus Water Coffee Brew Kit ($60 value).

RULES

The event will consist of 2 rounds and a blind judging process. Brew order will be assigned at random on the day of. All competitors will use the same coffee roasted on the same day which will be mailed out to competitors 2 weeks prior to the event with an included info card on the coffee.

JUDGING PROCESS:

  • The station attendant will bring each judge a set of cups
  • They will be marked on the bottom with M (Machine) or H (Human)
  • Judges will score each coffee and decide on the winner
  • Tiebreakers will be settled by the head judge

ROUND 1:

  • Brewed coffees will be brought to a panel of three judges and tasted blind against the Aiden brew.
  • A standard cupping sheet will be used by judges to provide guidance and feedback.
  • Manual brews that are selected, will move on to Round 2.

ROUND 2:

  • In this round, competitors will face off against each other.
  • Same judgement process applies.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

All brews will receive a score for each criteria being judged. These are:

  1. Flavor
  2. Body
  3. Extraction

What will Sunergos provide?

  • Whole bean coffee for practice and brewing at the event

Will I have time to set up before the event?

Yes, you may arrive at Sunergos Willis at 5pm on the day of the event to practice your brews and make any necessary adjustments.
